Natural Gas Regulation

Regulation (EC) No 715/2009/EC on Conditions for Access to the Natural Gas Transmission Networks, lays down rules for access to natural gas transmission networks, gas storage and LNG facilities. The regulation determines, among other aspects, how network access tariffs are set, the allocation of capacity to gas TSOs, transparency requirements and balancing rules and imbalance charges on the market.

The current consolidated version 24/12/2018 (documentary value only), includes all amendments and corrigenda.

Commission Decision (EU) 2015/715 amending Annex I to Regulation (EC) No 715/2009 on conditions for access to the natural gas transmission networks

The Commission’s 2021 work programme foresees a legislative revision of the third energy package for gas, including changing Regulation 715/2009/EU on conditions for access to the natural gas transmission networks. The legislative proposal is foreseen for adoption in Q4 2021.
