About OKTE

The scope of OKTE’s activities is largely defined by European and national legal requirements. The company organises and evaluates the organised short-term cross-border electricity market in the Slovak Republic. It further provides balancing and clearing services and operates central metering and invoicing systems. As of 2020, OKTE, a.s., is responsible for the management of the Slovakian renewable energy support scheme and faciliates the Guarantees of Origin (GOs) system in Slovakia.

OKTE, a.s., actively cooperates with multiple national actors and institutions, including the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic, RONI, SEPS, the distribution systems operators (DSOs) as well as other market participants.

In addition to its national scope, OKTE, a.s., has been an active member of Europex since 22 November 2011.Within this framework, OKTE, a.s., together with its partners, strives to promote the interests of energy exchanges and delegated operators in the European Union. In this context, the increase of economic competition, the establishment of price transparency and dealing with issues related to the establishment of a single European market are of high importance.
