TSOC – Transmission System Operator-Cyprus

Transmission System Operator-Cyprus (TSOC) was founded in 2004, following the government’s decision to liberalize the electricity market in line with European directives, and is a legal entity under public law.
TSOC, as defined in the national legislation, is responsible for the operation of the Transmission System of Electricity and the operation of the Electricity Market under a net-pool model compliant with the EU Target Model. TSOC is also the authorised Issuing Body for Guarantees of Origin for renewable energy and high-efficiency cogeneration and, in this capacity, a full member of the Association of Issuing Bodies (AIB). TSOC is currently in the process of becoming a Registered Reporting Mechanism (RRM) under REMIT.
TSOC is governed by its Executive Director, appointed by the Ministers’ cabinet.
