Following the publication of the EU Grids Package by the European Commission on 10 December 2025 (COM (2025) 1005), Europex sets out its views on the proposed measures to expand and strengthen Europe’s electricity grid.
We have consistently emphasised that sufficient grid investment, combined with transparent and stable market frameworks, is the most effective way to deliver electricity that is affordable, reliable and sustainable. Grid congestion undermines transmission efficiency, with direct implications for energy security, affordability and overall system reliability.
